Anti-Racism: Taking Action in SMPH, Town Hall 6/22

Angela Byars-WinstonCCHE would like to ensure our UW-SMPH colleagues are aware of the School’s Summer Faculty/Staff Town Hall taking place on Monday, June 22 at 4:30pm. The agenda includes an important panel discussion spearheaded by CCHE Associate Director Angela Byars-Winston, PhD.

Dr. Byars-Winston collaborated with Dean Golden’s leadership team to organize the “Anti-Racism: Taking Action in SMPH” panel.  We believe SMPH has an important opportunity, right now, to ensure our community takes action to address the impact of racism.  We fully support moving beyond a non-racist stance to being anti-racist with intentional engagement to eradicate racism.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Dr. Byars-Winston with panelists Molly Carnes, MD, MS; Bennett Vogelman, MD; Amy Zelenski, PhD; and Karin Silet. Faculty and staff are welcome to submit questions. The event will be video captured and posted on the Town Hall webpage once the WebEx file is processed.

Our sincere thanks to Dr. Byars-Winston for her leadership in this important moment.
