SUMMARY:Dissemination & Implementation Short Course
DESCRIPTION:Implementation Science and Human Factors for Translational Impact: Engineering Evidence-Based\, Human-Centered Care\n\nGuest Faculty: Edmond Ramly\, PhD\nDate and time: Wednesday\, Oct. 7\, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.\nLocation: This is a hybrid event. Participants can attend online via Zoom or at the Health Sciences Learning Center\, UW-Madison campus.\nRegistration fee: $50.00\n\nPlease pay at the time of registration via credit card or Workday Worktag. If payment is a barrier or if you would like to request a deferment\, please briefly explain your circumstances when prompted in the registration survey.  \nAbout the 2026 Short Course:  \nMany proposals have strong interventions but weak implementation plans\, while others have robust implementation frameworks but limited intervention and workflow design. The 2026 Short Course equips researchers\, practitioners\, and trainees with practical skills to integrate implementation science and human factors frameworks to design scalable\, evidence-based interventions that improve health care delivery and outcomes. Through lectures\, case studies\, and hands-on workshops\, participants will learn to align clinical interventions with real-world workflows\, apply these frameworks to their own projects\, and leave with tailored\, community-engaged solutions ready to drive meaningful change. \nAgenda:\nOct. 6: Pre-events \n\n3-4 p.m.: Introduction to Implementation Science and Human Factors (hybrid via Zoom or Health Sciences Learning Center Room 3110C)\n\nSpeaker: Edmond Ramly\n\n\n4-5:30 p.m.: Welcome/Ice Cream Social (on-site HSLC Room 3110C)\n\nOct. 7: D&I Short Course  \n\n7:30 a.m.: Registration opens\n8-8:30 a.m.: Welcome\n\nSpeakers: Beth Burnside\, Shellie Ellis\, and Felice Resnik\n\n\n8:30-9:45 a.m.: Integrating Implementation Science and Human Factors: Implications and Impact\n\nSpeaker: Edmond Ramly\n\n\n10-11 a.m.: Designing and Delivering Better Health Care: Integrating Human Factors and Implementation Science Approaches\n\nPanelists: Michelle Chui and Hanna Barton\n\n\n11 a.m.-noon: Practical Systems Design: An Interactive Workshop to Solve Implementation Challenges\nnoon-1 p.m.: Lunch (provided for those on-site)\n1-2:30 p.m.: Bridging the Translational Science Gap: Human Factors and Implementation Science in Dialogue\n\nPanelists: Bethany Kwan and Linsey Steege\nModerator: Edmond Ramly\n\n\n2:45-4 p.m.: Implementation Development Workshop/Case Consultations\n4-4:30 p.m.: Closing and Next Steps\n\nOct. 9: Post-event \n\nNoon-1 p.m.: Implementation Science Seminar (virtual)\n\nSpeaker: Nicole Werner\, PhD
