Exploring the process of patient-engaged research: Tips and tools for successful collaboration

June 27, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Researchers interested in effective translational science recognize the value of including patient and community voices. Even though providing opportunities for patient engagement is often seen as desirable, there are potential barriers to doing so—including time, expense, and the challenging tasks of determining how, when, where, and with whom to engage. This workshop is intended for researchers starting a new project (such as an ICTR pilot), currently engaged in a research project, or developing new grant proposals.

Wisconsin Network for Research Support staff will highlight key benefits of getting patient advice (for example, recruitment!) and share tips/tools to help researchers develop stakeholder engagement plans, connect with existing advisory groups, and create their own project-specific lay advisory groups.
