Forming Breakthrough Research Teams: A Team Science Workshop for Post Docs

June 24, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Are you interested in conducting team science but don’t know where to start to build a strong team?

Diverse and high-functioning interdisciplinary teams are essential for tackling complex research problems. But creating impactful teams can be challenging, in large part because few researchers are trained in the leadership skills needed to assemble and direct a successful team. In response to this need, we designed this 90-minute virtual workshop for early career investigators that provides an overview of the best practices for effective team composition and leadership. During this workshop, we will cover how to:

  • Engage and motivate prospective team members by clarifying your team’s rationale, mission, purpose, values, and goals
  • Assemble effective expert teams using evidence-based strategies that explore the dynamic evolution of teams from the Science of Team Science
  • Create maximum research impact by strategically selecting team members and cultivating a strong team culture of psychological safety.

The workshop will mix short didactic and interactive sections to increase your knowledge and comfort with engaging in interdisciplinary research and team science.

The workshop is limited to 25 participants. Please register by Monday, June 20:
