From Marshfield Clinic Research Institute Office of Research Computing & Analytics
Since 2007, Marshfield Clinic Research Institute (MCRI) has partnered with UW-Madison to support the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research goal of creating an environment that transforms research into a continuum from investigation through discovery and to translation into real-life community practice. At MCRI, the Office of Research Computing & Analytics (ORCA) is dedicated to this goal and provides support to scientific computational infrastructure for researchers as well as technical consulting for various projects. The ORCA team is responsible for providing essential tools at the earliest stages of research and continuing throughout the translational continuum, to support the ever-changing health care and research environment.
In support of providing comprehensive training, integrated efforts to support translational science, and advancing innovations that provide practical learning and networking opportunities which extend across organizations, ORCA is extending an invitation for UW investigators, staff, and partners to attend ORCA hosted REDCap training events.
Training sessions will highlight the use of a unique design, attribute, or feature within the premier online survey and data base that can be leveraged to create the best resource for projects or programs. This event is also utilized as a standing platform for researchers and staff to ask REDCap related questions.
This series will be hosted by one of the dedicated ORCA team members with extensive experience in customizing REDCap projects, including:
- Leila Deering – an Applications Analyst Specialist and 2020 REDCap Consortium MVP with vast experience in the customization of search functions, call lists, dashboards, developmental features, as well as leadership to broaden the use of developed tools and training materials.
- Stephanie Karl – an Applications Analyst Associate with experience in REDCap use, development features, and the development of projects which allow for researchers to leverage existing infrastructure to support research endeavors.
- Christopher Kadolph – a Software Development Team Lead – Technical with extensive experience in improving participant recruitment through the development of secure, user-friendly research informatics tools that integrate with the electronic health record (EHR) for unified study intake, activation, management, and scientific data collection.
- Krishna Upadhyay – a Senior Programmer/Analyst with experience in development of hooks, plugins and external modules within existing REDCap infrastructure projects.
