This award is designed for early-stage investigators focused on health disparities/inequities to gain experience in clinical and translational research in support of future career development and acquisition of preliminary data for subsequent funding mechanisms. Specifically, this pilot award program prioritizes support of assistant professors and requires a mentored junior-senior collaboration, wherein the collaborators embrace an interdisciplinary approach to research, as well as meaningful engagement of community partners & stakeholders.

The goal of this Stakeholder and Patient Engaged Research (SPER) RFA is to support excellent, community-partnered health research that will strengthen a competitive application for external funding for research requiring strong stakeholder engagement as a foundation for a successful application. This includes but is not limited to PCOR. New or previously unsuccessful applicants to PCOR funders are encouraged to apply.
