The MCRI Biomedical Informatics Research Center (BIRC) is an exceptional resource for scientists conducting clinical and translational research. Marshfield Clinic develops much of its own clinical software and has its own in-house electronic health record system.
Current research at BIRC includes EHR-based phenotyping for identifying patient risk factors and research recruitment, use of privacy preserving data mining algorithms on actual combined EHR and genetic data, and dental informatics.
