The Hmong Institute is hosting the 2nd Annual Hmong Health Summit August 17-18th in Madison, WI.
This year’s summit is focused on hospice care and trauma in the Hmong community. Five distinguished speakers from the Hmong community will be featured: Dia Cha, BA, MA, PhD; Alyssa Kaying Vang, PsyD, LP; Kajua Lor, PharmD, BCACP; Kevin Thao, MD, MPH; and Moha Her-Xiong, PhD Candidate. Dr. Kajua Lor is a 2016 alum of our Health Equity Leadership Institute (HELI) & Dr. Kevin Thao received a 2015 ICTR AHEAD pilot grant that supplemented his work on the Survey of the Health of the Wausau Area Hmong Population (SHWAHP)!
The Hmong Health Summit will assist participants in gaining knowledge about traditional Hmong health concepts, beliefs, and practices in an effort to foster cultural competence and promote culturally responsive services. Providers, health care professionals, health care team members and anyone interested in learning to better serve the Hmong community are encouraged to attend.
Continuing Education Units and Continuing Education Hours will be available through Edgewood College.
The Summit will take place August 17-18, 2018 at 1255 Deming Way in Madison, WI 53717.
The deadline for registration is July 21st.
