Shivani Garg, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Division of Rheumatology). The title of her research is Early Predictors of Poor Outcomes in Lupus Nephritis (EPO-LN). The goal of this project is to study and improve CVD risk prediction in Lupus Nephritis, which is rarely addressed in clinical practice. Critical next steps will be to investigate her findings on prediction using baseline r-ASCL reporting in a diverse LN cohort to correlate with CVD events, as well as beginning to address the need to examine cellular biomarkers of CVD risk. This work will offer a strong foundation for a future a multisite implementation study.
