Position title: Assistant Director, Team Science
LaKaija Johnson, Assistant Director of Team Science, holds a Master of Public Service and an MPH from the University of Arkansas. Joining ICTR in September 2020, her focus will be on developing team science training curricula for investigators, staff, and community partners engaged in team-based research. She will also work to develop team-based interventions to help teams work together more effectively and conduct research on how best to support translational teams.
As a graduate student at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Ms. Johnson was a Research Assistant in the Tracking and Evaluation core for the Great Plains Institutional Development Award Program Infrastructure for Clinical and Translational Research (IDeA-CTR) Network. She is scheduled to complete her PhD in Health Promotion & Disease Prevention Research in Spring 2021, and her dissertation research uses systems science methods to examine the influence of the IDeA-CTR award on the development of cross-disciplinary team research capacity and competitiveness for extramural research awards.
