Susan Zelasko

Position title: Current TL1 Trainee

***New in 2020*** Susan Zelasko’s research focuses on identifying and characterizing bioactive molecules capable of effectively targeting multidrug-resistant pathogens, while being less disruptive to the host microbiome than traditional antibiotics. Her ultimate goal is clinical trials of novel antimicrobial drugs. She is part of the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) and is earning a PhD in Microbiology with a Minor in Clinical Investigation while working under the direction of Cameron Currie in the Department of Bacteriology.
