ICTR-Shapiro Medical Student Research Fellowship
Supported by ICTR and the Herman and Gwendolyn Shapiro Foundation, this research fellowship provides SMPH medical students the opportunity to engage in an intensive yearlong research experience under the mentorship of a UW SMPH faculty member.
Medical students in the program take a year out from their studies to participate in the fellowship, usually after their second or third years. Students are paid a stipend during their fellowship year. A unique aspect of the fellowship is a tuition allowance for students to complete six credits toward a Certificate in the Fundamentals of Clinical Research through ICTR.

MCRF Summer Research Intern Program
The primary goal of the 12-week summer internship program is to provide a hands-on research experience for college undergraduate or graduate students. Interns are mentored by a research scientist and contribute to the development, data collection, analysis, and presentation of results phases of a research project.
Areas of research concentration include biomedical informatics, clinical & laboratory research, cultural & medical anthropology, epidemiology, genetics, interactive clinical design, and oral & systemic health. Students receive an hourly wage, plus housing near the medical complex. Additional information is available via the Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation Summer Research Internship Program.
