The Journal of the American Medical Association has published updated guidance on the reporting of race and ethnicity in medical and science journals. Read it here.
The goal of the editorial is to provide recommendations and suggestions that encourage fairness, equity, consistency, and clarity in use and reporting of race and ethnicity in medical and science journals. The piece speaks for itself, and we encourage our colleagues and affiliates to read and consider it in context with any current/ongoing research, as well as that in planning stages.
We also encourage sharing broadly to others who may not see JAMA, but who publish health equity research and other scholarship.
Thank you to Chris Sorkness for sharing.
