About

James Nilsestuen, MBA, ICTR Multi-functional Research Administration Manager, oversees the full life cycle of grants at ICTR. His responsibilities include investigating opportunities, managing the application process, reporting to NIH and other funding agencies, and complying with all relevant regulations. Major grants under his supervision include the NIH Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) encompassing both KL2 & TL1 component awards, funding from the NIH National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN), and support from the Wisconsin Partnership Program.

Mr Nilsestuen comes to ICTR with extensive accounting experience in academic, governmental and private sector organizations. His broad grants management experience includes post-award work on the Help America Vote Act (DHHS) and Student Financial Aid (public and private), as well as Department of Defense and National Health Institute awards.
