Majid Afshar, MD, MS, directs the ICTR Learning Health Systems Initiative and is an associate professor in the Department of Medicine’s Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He is an affiliate of both the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics and the Data Science Institute. He serves as a physician informaticist for UW Health. As a clinical informatician, he works closely with UW Health to develop innovative informatics approaches to improve health outcomes and healthcare delivery. Dr. Afshar received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, in addition to an MS in research methods and epidemiology, also from Rush University.
