About
Marin Schweizer, PhD, is a professor in the Division of Infectious Disease at the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. Within ICTR, she serves as co-director of the KL2 Scholars Program.
Dr. Schweizer has an independently funded research program dedicated to prevention and optimal treatment of Staphylococcus aureus infections and surgical site infections. Her recent research has focused on interventions to prevent S. aureus infections and surgical site infections as well as de-implementation of ineffective testing and treatment.
Her work has been funded through the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Dr. Schweizer has a deep commitment to training and mentoring researchers. She has mentored many graduate students, medical students, postdoctoral fellows, clinical fellows, and early career faculty members.
