About

The future of medicine and device development will increasingly rely on precision therapies—treatments designed for the right patient at the right time. In order to conduct this type of research, access to next generation protein or metabolite measurements is necessary.

The goal of the Strategic Alliance is to provide access to quantitative or discovery proteomics for use in biomarker identification for phenotyping (diagnosis or management).

This collaborative program is open to researchers at all ICTR partnering institutions who are engaged in clinical or translational research involving living subjects. Investigative teams collaborate with ICTR Alliance members to design hypotheses, establish assays, define endpoints, and develop analysis plans.

Depending on project needs, the Strategic Alliance may involve the Team Science program to lead Collaboration Planning, host Research Catalyst Symposia, and provide project management. Alliance participants are also eligible to apply for ICTR ATRS administrative pilots to develop new multi PI/PD applications.

Examples of recent projects include:

  • Quantitative proteomics of disease biomarkers
  • Discovery proteomics of biological samples from normal and diseased conditions
  • Metabolomic profiling of biological fluids
