About
Luis Gonzalez-Quizhpe is the Research Coordinator for the All of Us Research Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Originally joining All of Us in November 2020, Luis contributed to the program’s recruitment and enrollment initiatives across Madison and Milwaukee, focusing on engaging minoritized communities in these areas. After a brief hiatus, he returns to lead recruitment and retention efforts, helping to advance All of Us’s mission to build a more inclusive approach to health research through diverse representation.
Proudly Kichwa Saraguro, Luis’s heritage has profoundly shaped his professional and academic pursuits. Luis brings a deep commitment to addressing health disparities and supporting the social well-being of youth and families from minoritized backgrounds, particularly those from Latine, Indigenous Latine, and immigrant communities. His research interests center on ethnic-racial identity (ERI) development for Latine and Indigenous youth of immigrant origin, focusing on their experiences in both urban and rural settings within host educational and social systems. Specifically, Luis is dedicated to supporting ERI development for Indigenous Kichwa youth in both U.S. and Ecuadorian diasporas and enhancing Ecuador’s Intercultural Bilingual Education (IBE) system to better support Indigenous identity development through curricular innovation.
Luis holds an Ed.M. in Human Development and Education from Harvard University, as well as an M.A. in Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
