About
Cecilia Volk, PharmD, is an Assistant Professor in the department of Pharmacy Practice and Translational Research. The title of her Kl2 research is “Innate immune response to MRSA bacteremia treatment regimens.” Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia (MRSA-B) is a common disease with high mortality rates (15-20%). Understanding the role of the innate immune system in clearance of MRSA-B is critical for determining the utility of novel treatment regimens and identifying patients who may require non-standard-of-care therapies.
