About
On February 14, Kat Phelps, PhD, and KJ Hansmann, MD, PhD, MPH, will present, “Co-Creation to Bring Community Perspectives into the Research Process.” Dr. Kat Phelps is a Research Equity and Engagement Consultant for the Wisconsin Network for Research Support (WINRS) in the UW-Madison School of Nursing. Dr. KJ Hansmann is an Assistant Professor in the UW-Madison Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.
In this presentation, Phelps and Hansmann will talk about theoretical and practical elements of co-creation, exploring how this methodology can be used to incorporate insights from community members at every stage of a research project – from prioritizing and defining issues to designing and implementing effective solutions. The specific project that will be highlighted works with an advisory board of people with dementia and their care partners with lived experience of what it is like to transition to stopping driving. Register via Zoom to attend the presentation.
This presentation is part of the DRISS Presents TEACH-RS series, an interactive, monthly lunchtime seminar to learn about dissemination and implementation research and recruitment science. Enhance your knowledge, share experiences, and develop connections with others in the community for your future work. It occurs every second Friday of the academic year at noon. Auto generated captions in English are available. Seminars are open to all, and participants can receive credit for attendance through Barbara King.
