As the director, Dr. Ellis will lead the scientific and programmatic vision for implementation science resources within ICTR. Dr. Ellis will work to build the program, enhance the university’s capacity for implementation science projects, and lead the D&I Launchpad team to coordinate workshops, educational programs, conferences, seminars, presentations, and meetings.

Beth Burnside, ICTR Executive Co-Director, notes, “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Ellis to UW–Madison. Her groundbreaking work in implementation science and cancer care delivery, combined with her unique interdisciplinary background in anthropology, statistics, and health services research, makes her an exceptional addition to our leadership team, promising to advance our mission of patient-centered care models and translational research.”

Dr. Ellis comes to us from the University of Kansas Medical Center, where she was an associate professor of population health and director of metrics and evaluation and implementation science capacity at the Frontiers Clinical and Translational Science Institute. Dr. Ellis has 20 years of experience implementing evidence-based research in practice. She has implemented screening and treatment interventions in various primary and specialty settings, spanning federally qualified health centers, hospital-owned outpatient clinics, and private practices in rural, urban, and suburban settings. She has designed and conducted multiple studies to assess determinants of health care provider adoption and implementation of evidence-based practice.

In addition to her position with ICTR, Dr. Ellis is joining the division of Hematology, Oncology and Palliative Care in the Department of Medicine at UW School of Medicine and Public Health.

ICTR would like to thank all those who have contributed to this successful recruitment including SMPH Associate Deans Hope Broadus and Heidi Conrad, Recruiter KJ Ellis, D&I Academic Advisory Committee Lead, Christie Bartels; and Department of Medicine leadership Kari Wisinski and Lynn Schnapp.

Welcome, Dr. Ellis!
