Three early-career University of Wisconsin–Madison faculty have received ICTR’s KL2 Career Development Award. The award period will begin on July 1, 2024. These promising investigators will receive 75% protected time for research, state-of-the-art mentoring and career development training over the next two years.
They will join seven continuing scholars from previous award cycles who continue to be supported by ICTR KL2 awards, a National Institutes of Health-funded initiative through the Clinical and Translational Science Awards program.

Vincent Ma, MD is an assistant professor of medicine in the division of hematology, medical oncology, and palliative care. The title of his KL2 research is “Circulating tumor cell enumeration, HLA, and PD-L1 protein expression in advanced stage melanoma.”
Quaovi Sodji, MD, PhD is an associate professor of human oncology. The title of his KL2 research is “Radiation Delivered by Lutetium-177 Radiopharmaceutical to Improve the Efficacy of Chimeric Antigen Receptor Therapy against Neuroblastoma.”
Jo Wilson, MD is an assistant professor of pediatrics in the division of allergy, immunology, and rheumatology. The title of her KL2 research is “Understanding the Impact of GSDMB Asthma Risk Alleles on Airway Epithelium.”
The next request for applications (RFA) for the KL2 Career Development Awards will be released in June 2024 (for appointments starting in July 2025). Candidates must be nominated by their department, and nomination letters from deans or department chairs will be due by the end of July.
