Overview
Annually, ICTR offers Culturally Aware Mentoring (CAM), an intensive, advanced active learning curriculum designed for faculty mentors who have previously participated in mentor training. This evidence-based workshop helps mentors to identify their personal assumptions, biases, and privileges that may operate in their mentoring relationships, and to learn and practice new skills with their peers. The workshop engages participants in intrapersonal, interpersonal, and skill-building work, particularly around race and ethnicity in the United States.
Further information about CAM is available on the UW–Madison Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER) website.
