Decentralized clinical trials with online recruitment have the capacity to broaden geographic and sociodemographic representation and inclusion, but the risks of fraudulent participation linked to study compensation must be carefully managed in order to ensure the validity of the data. This presentation will cover a range of fraud prevention strategies and lessons learned from over 10 years of conducting decentralized trials of tobacco cessation interventions that have employed online recruitment.
