About
Just Research is a program for researchers and research staff to learn skills to promote research equity and diversity in study participation. It was created by Gina Green-Harris, Center for Community Engagement and Health Partnerships (CCE) and Susan Passmore, School of Nursing and Collaborative Center for Health Equity (CCHE) based on their experience with community engagement, inclusive research practices, and the Building Trust initiative.
Just Research is based on a survey of the needs of UW investigators and research staff completed in 2020 and Green-Harris’s experience with asset-based community-based models. Its foundational workshop is informed by advances in the science of diversity education.
Just Research Workshops
Just Research workshops are designed for investigators, research staff, or anyone interested in inclusive research and engagement. These workshops are generally held in person for a full day, from 8:30-4:30.
Just Research Seminars
Just Research seminars provide additional opportunities for investigators, staff, and students to learn from others working to improve diversity and inclusion in research. These seminars are 60-minutes and held through a virtual platform.
