Trainees earn a stipend, health insurance, tuition and fees, and a travel allowance.

Duration:
The ICTR TL1 is up for a competitive renewal in 2026 and will transition to a T32. Due to this transition, trainees will only be guaranteed for 1 year on the grant from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. Additional funding is dependent upon successful competitive renewal of the training program.
